Alginate Impression Compound (500g) (PROALG500) Alginate is a powder which, when mixed with water (1L water to 500g powder) forms a gel suitable for taking impressions of human tissue. It is a natural plant extract which is quick setting, self releasing, spearmint flavoured, and gives excellent reproduction of fine detail. It has been used by dentists for many years and is considered safe for use on the skin. The skin should be lubricated with petroleum jelly to protect hair growth. Our Alginate features colour change characteristics to aid the user. The initial violet mixing stage will change to pink when it is ready to take an impression. The colour will finally change to white once the Alginate has set. Each 500g package is enough to take a full face cast and the packs come with complete mixing instructions and measuring scoops.
