Most of the ones we list are easily portable so that they can be lifted into the boot of a car for work in a variety of locations.
Consideration should be given to the air output from the compressor. Almost any compressor will acheive the pressure needed but it is the volume of air which is important. The popular SATAJet 1000 B RP spray gun will use around 7.1cfm at full tilt whereas the Minijet 3000 B HVLP uses around 4cfm. As scenic work normally involves stop/start spraying they will operate satisfactorily from small portable compressors giving upwards of 7cfm.
Be careful though, because some HVLP guns use large quantities of air [the SATAjet 4000 HVLP uses 15.2cfm] and really require large fixed installation compressors [please phone for details of larger units]. Flints have spent a lot time looking into the compressor market with a view to finding a replacement to the old Clarkes Pioneer which is now no longer made.
Ironically this new range, that we believe to be the most suitable, are also called Pioneer compressors but these come from Italy and are of good quality. We are even hopeful that the wheels wont fall off which was so common with the old Clarkes Compressors that we included spare circlips for them!
