Jenny Foam Brushes and RollersJenny Foam Brushes and Rollers
These genuine "Jenny" brushes are ideal for applying and laying off high gloss finishes such as enamel or varnish. The rollers are designed for rapid application of paint and varnish which can be layed off with the foam brush. They are easy to clean but also cheap enough to throw away making them ideal for touching up work. The finish achieved with these brushes is first class. Widely used by classic boatyards across the country.

Although Jenny Painting Systems recommend these brushes for all paint types (except shellac) we have had one problem in July 2004 with with a two pack zinc phoshate primer called Epidac which managed to disolve the rollers causing considerable trouble for the user. Flints have made a full refund including the cost of the paint which came from another supplier and we are currently trying to establish why this occurred. In the meantime we would recommend that you test the brush if you are using it on two packs with agressive solvents. A foam brush is probably not the ideal brush for applying heavy bodied primers when you may need the stiffness of a good quality bristle brush to manoeuvre and work the paint.

Otherwise Flints have sold many thousands of these brushes and rollers with no complaints.
Purdy BrushesPurdy Brushes
Flints stock a wide range of these American brushes with synthetic bristles. Purdy brushes incorporate a blend of nylon solid round tapered (SRT) and polyester bristles. This combination provides the right firmness without leaving brushmarks and excellent shape retention. The artificial fibres are noticeably easier to clean than conventional bristle. Suitable for all paint types. To encourage you to try these brushes we are offering a three brush set with a cleaning comb at almost 45% off the recommended selling price !

Lily VarnishLily Varnish
Flat green enamelled handles with chrome ferrules. The soft pure bristles form a flat lightweight brush ideal for laying in varnish whilst providing good access into awkward corners. Use them for cover boards, toe rails, king planks, and areas obstructed with winch mounting blocks, anchor chocks etc. These thin brushes can get behind stanchions and into limber channels. I use them for most of my deck work but they are not able to carry enough varnish for large open areas such as the hull. The handles are drilled for storage. Available in seven sizes and two thicknesses. Very useful brushe.
