First Night Riders
|
The First Night Riders is the name for the annual motorcycle charity ride that raises money for The Theatrical Guild
The Theatrical Guild is the only charity dedicated to looking after the interests of backstage and Front of House personnel, it was established back in 1891 by the actress Kittie Carson. The charity is based in London but helps those in need throughout the country with educational sponsorship, one-off grants as well as counselling and welfare advice. Visit The Theatrical Guild’s website for more information on them and the work they do
2012 saw Keira Knightly & Simon Russell-Beale confirmed as patrons of The Theatrical Guild.
The First Night Riders' first ride took place in June 2010 and has taken place every year raising funds for this great cause. It’s headed by Brenda and David Edelstein (owners of tab track manufacturers Triple E) who came down to Flints and loved the building so much they have agreed with us to have food and drinks here for the whole riding crew the night before their annual fund raising trip on the 29th June 2013. We are delighted to be of assistance for such a worthy cause.
Please visit The First Night Riders website for more info.

Flints Customer Survey
Many thanks to everybody who took the time to complete our survey. We had over 200 responses with many useful comments and suggestions which we are working through. All of your comments, good and bad, have been collated and will be used to help us improve our service to you.
As a thank you for taking the time to complete the survey, we entered all those who wished into a prize draw to win a Makita LCT204W drill set. Congratulations to the lucky winner Simon Brittlebank of
Ev-entz in Newport. Simon's role in the company is split between working as a stage manager, crew and the day to day running of the warehouse. Ev-entz hire orchestral percussion, drum kits and all aspects of backline hire for anything from orchestral and band concerts to festivals and everything in between, as well as providing stage and production management and stage crew services to orchestral clients.
We are sure Simon will find his Makita kit useful and thanks again to everyone who took part.

The ABTT has been in discussion with the Health & Safety Executive regarding Tallescopes© for some time especially in regard to moving them with someone in the cradle as has been common practice in the theatre for many years.
At one point the advice was not to do this, but this has now been modified so that they can be moved as long as the person in the cradle is using an independent fall-arrest device. Click here for the full ABTT statement or for more information visit the ABTT website: www.abtt.org.uk
Flints will continue to supply Tallescopes, which are available to purchase on line.
