We had heard that some of you have been marking out without using LX tape! Shock, horror!

On one of our many client visits we spoke to customers that had been using these chalk pens as a more sustainable alternative to using tape/stickers that are one time use and impossible to recycle.

The wide 15 mm flat nib produces an thick opaque line that is just as visible as a tape marking. It's proven much quicker than laying out and cutting tape, you could also attach the pens to the end of a broom handle and save your back!

The Liquid Chalk stands up well to traffic and scuffing, as well as being water resistant. It is designed to be removed cleanly by using a damp cloth on non porous surfaces but we have found that it can stain lighter coloured surfaces and doesn't remove completely from the deep matt black finish of Flints Black so would need some touching up after removal.

As with many sustainable alternatives there are comprises to be made we think Chalk Pens definitely have their place.

Other notable alternatives to LX tape are:

• Stage Mark, pre cut shapes that save time and produce far less waste.
• PaperTak, the paper based tape with a natural rubber adhesive, easy to tear and plastic free.

Or after reading all that you could just use LX tape and use the Chalk Pens for what they are meant for, writing on chalkboards, whiteboards, mirrors and glass surfaces.
